Anita Musto was and will forever be remembered positively in the minds of people who knew and loved her. Some knew her as a tough women's advocate, teaching concealed firearms classes to women; some remember her as a passionate, caring English professor at UVU, truly caring about her students success; some remember her bright, warm smile that always made you feel loved; some as a grammar Nazi; and some remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Whatever you remember about Anita, guaranteed she touched your heart in one way or another. She was an amazing woman who had the gift of bringing laughter, love, and joy to everyone around her.
Anita's story began in Akron, Ohio, but soon changed as her family moved West to Hollywood, CA. Growing up in a warm heritage-rich Italian family taught her the importance and meaning of family. She thought of them as friends and her friends as family, with relationships that lasted until her passing day. She met John P. Musto at a Catholic dance, fell in love and was married in 1964. Their love and friendship lasted as long as it could until John's passing in 2006. She is survived by her daughter Maria Barretto and ex-husband Mark Barretto, and their children Jeremy, Timothy, and Jessica; her son Daniel Musto and his husband Christopher Johns; and her brother Mike Fabrizio and his wife Jodi; plus many other loving family members. Anita put love into the world and got it back ten-fold by many loving people. There are so many people who played an important role in her life, but we as a family would like to personally thank her loving boyfriend Denver who stood by her side until her passing day. Denver was her rock, her world, and he will always be family to us. Although she suffered a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease, she never gave up. Near the end of her life, when asked if she was a fighter, her response was, "till the very end". Although it's the end now Mom, our love, honor, respect, and joy of having you in our lives will never end. Goodbye for now Mom, until we meet again. We love you.
