Dorothy Helen Pearson, age 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on June 19, 2014 in Roy, Utah. Dorothy was born October 19, 1932 to Harold E. Cox and Helen L. Kirby in Beaumont, California and raised by her mother and Herman A. Snideman. She married Roy Nelson Pearson on June 26, 1965 in Riverside, California. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dorothy was loved by all who knew her. She was a convert to the LDS Church and has been a strong member ever since. She held many callings within the church but specifically loved working with the young women. Dorothy enjoyed baking and cross stitch. She had a special gift and natural ability to reach out to those in need. She was constantly looking for someone to put under her wing and watch over. In her later life, especially, she found great joy in serving others and making them feel important. Nothing in this world mattered more to Dorothy than her loving, supportive family.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Karen (Kevin) Barker, (Keyvan Keyvani), Ray W. Pearson, Bruce W. (Vanisha) Griggs, Cindy D. Pearson, Jennifer L. (Scott) Dilley. Also survived by brothers and sisters: Richard H (Janet) Snideman, John (Eileen) Snideman, George (Debbie) Snideman, Beverly Snideman, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Nelson Pearson, her daughter Kathy Helen Lorene Keyvani, and her sister Yvonne L. Goodman.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, UT. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. We would like to offer a special thanks to all the health care providers who looked after Dorothy.
