Shirley Jean Roberts Redd

1930 ~ 2016

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dearest friend, Shirley Roberts Redd, passed away at the age of 85 on Friday, January 29, 2016 in Bountiful, Utah. The daughter of Elliott Jessop and Susan Gladwyn Roberts, Shirley, was born in Logan, Utah on March 31, 1930.

Shirley was a dedicated and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her brothers and sisters in the church as Stake and Ward Relief Society President, Stake and Ward Young Women President, Ward Primary President. Shirley also fulfilled the role of a Seminary Teacher. She served the broader community as a missionary with her husband, Lloyd, in Illinois Chicago North Mission. Shirley was a dedicated and dutiful mother to her own children and others in need. Shirley graciously welcomed all into her home and all who came felt loved. She enjoyed tennis and table tennis as well as solving puzzles of all types and she loved board games. She was an accomplished gardener and loved the beauties of nature.

Shirley is survived by her husband Lloyd H. Redd; brothers Elliott Roberts (Alene), Robert Roberts (Sue), Thomas Roberts (Glenda); children Susan Mangus (Marlon), Francelle Ericson (Arthur), Hugh Redd (Cynthia), Thomas Redd (April), John Redd (Nicole); 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson John Robert Elliot Redd II and great-grandson Nicholas Santilli.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 142 W. 200 N, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, February 5th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah and Saturday from 9:00-9:45 am prior to services at the LDS church. Interment at Logan Cemetery, Logan, UT.
