Suzanne Leetham Bonham

1958 ~ 2015

On December 16th Suzanne passed away in her Sandy, UT home from a seven year battle with Cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and her children at her side.

Suzanne was born on March 28th, 1958 to Joel and Merlyn Leetham in Redwood City, CA. Raised in San Jose, CA, she graduated from Del Mar High School where she was a pom-pom girl and enjoyed many fun activities growing up. She attended BYU where she met her sweetheart Scott Bonham. They were married in the Oakland Temple on June 10, 1978. While at BYU, they welcomed their firstborn Brad and shortly after graduation, they moved to the Bay Area. Over the next ten years, they welcomed daughters Becky, Michelle, Tiffany and son Christopher. In 1990, they moved to SLC where they have spent the last 25 years in the Sandy/SLC area.

Suzanne's proudest accomplishment was being a mother. She adored her family and loved every minute spent with them. She loved and supported her children in all their various activities and rarely missed a game or event. She supported her husband in his business activities as well as when he was Bishop. Scott and Suzanne loved each other's company and loved to be together. They were true soul mates and best friends. Suzanne's greatest joy was being a Grandma. Each grandchild knew they were loved and cherished by their Grandma Su. Nothing made her feel better on a hard day than a visit from one of her grandchildren.

Suzanne has a wide circle of friends that she held dear to her heart, especially her special Pickleball gals. Because of her fun-loving, easy-going nature, people were drawn to her and she made friends everywhere she went. Suzanne was a big sports fan. She loved the San Francisco Giants, college football, professional golf, and the Utah Jazz. Suzanne loved living in Utah, where she was close to the beautiful mountains. Although she traveled the world, she always loved being home. After raising her children, Suzanne returned back to BYU and earned her Bachelors Degree in April 2007.

Suzanne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings with her favorite being YWs president. She was an accomplished pianist and loved to share her musical abilities with others. For the last 11 years, she and Scott have loved serving in the Jordan River and Draper Temple Baptistry. Through these last 7 years, her strong testimony of Faith and Prayer has inspired many people. She knows families are eternal. We are so grateful to know we will someday get to be with our beautiful wife, mother and grandma again.

She is survived by her beloved husband Scott; Son Brad (Megan), daughters Becky (Russ) McIllece, Michelle (Rob) West, Tiffany (Chris) Green and son Christopher Bonham. Parents Joel and Merlyn Leetham, brothers Brian (Kathy), Ken (Mindy), Rich Leetham, and sister Cheryl (Joel) Izatt. Mother in law Anne Bonham and Grandchildren, Abigail, Tucker, James, Lily, Easton and Jake. Preceded in death by Grandparents, Father in law Stan Bonham and Grandsons Grant Bonham and Grady McIllece.

The Family would like to thank Dr. John Weis, PA Nicole Orgain and RN Judy Bolton who have given exceptional care to Suzanne at Huntsman Cancer Hospital. She also loved her infusion nurses and she considered them angels in her life.

We also would like to thank all of Suzanne's family and friends for their outpouring of love and support, especially these last few months.
