Rodney Harold Erickson

1918 ~ 2017

Rodney Harold Erickson was born December 3, 1918 in Superior, Wisconsin to Harold E. Erickson and Hannah Paulson. He passed away in the loving arms of his bride of over seventy-one years on December 26, 2017 at the age of 99.

Rodney married Elsie Pistorius on February 21, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Theirs was an affair of the heart; an inspiration to all lovers, of lasting love, devotion and kindness. Their enduring love triumphed over the past seven decades through the good and hard times, buoyed by an enthusiasm for life, travel, family and laughter. Their adventures took them to every continent and made for wonderful stories that delighted and inspired their loved ones.

Rodney was extremely proud of being a veteran who served his country during World War II having been one of the first to enlist. After the war Rodney was the proud owner of Henrys' Juice Factory in Salt Lake and worked later in adult corrections at the State Prison until he retired at age 65.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother and only sister Burnell Twight; he is survived by his wife, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held December 30, 2017 at Larkin Mortuary. We extend our thanks to the caring staff at Pacifica Senior Living Center.
