Ida Mae Lewis

1927 ~ 2016

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 28, 2016.

Ida was born in Murray, Utah February 26, 1927 to Dominic and Lena Ferro. She was married to the love of her life, Harris, on August 10, 1946. They were happily married 55 wonderful years. Harris went ahead to help prepare their eternal mansion in 2002. Ida's primary concern was always her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, who always put her family first. She was an avid homemaker who loved to cook and always had the ability to put together a great Italian dinner when unexpected guests would arrive. Ida always enjoyed the great outdoors with our family and relished the times with those who would come long distances to enjoy the things she so loved. She was always ready to go fishing at Strawberry Reservoir, camping at various areas throughout Utah and always was excited to go deer hunting and be with her family from near and far, in the area around Soldier Summit near Strawberry.

She is survived by Son David (Gail), Daughters Linda Darcy, Judy (Al) Allgood, Brother Joe (June) Ferro, nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

The family is very grateful to Legacy House Assisted living for their phenomenal staff and accommodations they contributed to Ida\s comfort over the past year. We also wish to thank the wonderful people of Aspire Hospice for their compassionate, loving care provided to Mom in her last days.

A celebration of Ida\s life will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel 1950 E. (10600 S.) Sandy. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Garden cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Legacy House of South Jordan or Aspire Hospice in Ida\s name.
