Barbara passed away on July 6, 2014, in the company of her family. She was 94 years old.
Barbara was born May 20, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward Little Howell and Anna Mary Selck Howell, where she spent her early youth. She moved with her family to San Diego when she was 9 and lived there until she moved with her husband to Sandy, Utah in 2001.
Barbara married Norman Hill in 1946. They were married for 59 years when he passed away in 2005. While they were married, Barbara graduated from San Diego State College and received her teaching credential. She taught for many years at Roosevelt Jr. High until she retired in 1981.
Barbara and Norman are survived by three children: Kathleen Claire (Konold); Suzanne Marie (Turnbow); and Mark Edward Hill; 21 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.
Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for her entire life, she served in many capacities. She enjoyed music, sewing, knitting, and study of history.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on July 10, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 10310 South Ashley Park Drive, (2130 East) Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be held at the church July 9 from 6-8PM and July 10 from 9:00- 9:45AM. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
