Neil J Scovil 1955-2020
Neil J Scovil, age 64, passed away on March 13, 2020. Born September 21, 1955, in Salt Lake City to Vern and Dorene Scovil. He attended Cottonwood High School. Married Julie Thompson on June 2, 1984. He is survived by his wife Julie, 2 children Michelle (Stuart), Jeremy all of Salt Lake City, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, sisters Patsy Baker and Linda Riddle; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He worked for Smith\s Food and Drug for 25+ years where he has made some wonderful friends.
We lost the most loving husband, best friend, lover and fabulous father of two wonderful children. The person we laughed with, dreamt with and loved with all our hearts. He was known as Uncle Neil to not only family but to co-workers and close friends. He was admired by many for his kind heart and his determination to always do the right thing.
He loved a good or bad game of golf, although he never really had a bad one. He cherished his time outdoors camping whether it is on the lake boating or somewhere in the motorhome with family and friends while occasionally drinking his famous greyhound or vodka tonic! He loved sitting around the fire listening to his favorite music and playing a game of corn hole or cards.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Dorene and brothers Jack, Jerry and Kenneth. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please check back for details.
