Don C. Torgenson Jr., 67, of Salt Lake City, returned to his Heavenly Father on October 30, 2014 from heart failure with his wife Susan Torgenson by his side.
Don was born to Sarah and Don Torgenson on February 9, 1947 in Pioche, Nevada. He dedicated his life to God, family and country. He loved genealogy and working in the LDS Temple. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He always found the time to watch them participate in sports, perform music and loved teaching them the gospel of Christ.
Don served a work mission in Oregon for the LDS church at the age of 18 before joining the Marines in 1966. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Army, Marines and retired from the Air Force.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan; four children, Jeffery (Jody) Torgenson, Brenda Walsh, Wayne (Betty) Torgenson, Amy (Roger) Mills; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grand child and 2 sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the LDS Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 North 1200 West Salt Lake City, Utah 84116. Viewing will begin at 10:30 am with funeral to follow at noon; Interment services will be held at Memorial Estates @ 2 pm, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. West Jordan, Utah.
