Teddy Glenn Hiatt

1934 ~ 2019

South Jordan, UT - Teddy Glen Hiatt, 84, enthusiastically returned to his Heavenly Father, his beloved wife, Georgia, and his parents, Samuel Floyd and Josie Rosencrantz Peterson Hiatt, on March 25, 2019 from complications of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was born April 7, 1934 in Elko, Nevada.

Dad served in the Marine Corp from 1952 ‚ 1954 during the Korean War. In 1956 he began his career as an Engineer with the Western Pacific Railroad and later the Union Pacific Railroad. He received several awards for his skills as an engineer.

Dad was an accomplished carpenter, avid Utah Jazz fan and loved to travel with his best friend, Georgia.

Ted married Helen Guthrie, deceased; their daughters: Debbie (Blair), and Connie (David), later divorced; married Jeannie Schubert; (her children, he later adopted: Kathy (Richard), Bonnie/deceased (Mark), Kevin and Joe, later divorced. In 1976 he married the love of his life, Georgia; her children: Debbie (Earl), Don (Jem), and Leslie (Doug). Their marriage was later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple.

Much to his mother's delight, Dad learned the value of the gospel in his life. He was always trying to make up for lost time. He became a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He could often be heard to say, "My mother was right."

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia; sisters, Margie and Sherri; daughters, Bonnie and Lori; granddaughter, Amber and great-granddaughter, Gracie Blair. He is survived by his 8 children, 21 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and his brother, Robert (Annetta).

The family would like to thank the Oquirrh Hills 4th Ward for the continuous love and support for our father. He loved you all so very much. Also, to Sagewood at Day Break Assisted Living Center and most especially to Nickson, Dad's wonderful Hospice Nurse, for his friendship, love and care and to the many friends, too many to name, who supported him with their generosity, love and friendship.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Oquirrh Hills 4th Ward Chapel, 5208 West Cyclamen Way, West Jordan, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to services from 12:00-1:15 pm. at the church. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah 84092.
