Marva Collett Workman

1922 ~ 2013

Marva Collett Workman was freed from her mortal tabernacle and taken into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013. She was 91 years old. Marva was born in Grace, Idaho, June 11, 1922 to George and Melvina Collett. She was married to her eternal sweetheart, John Dean Workman, on January 5, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Marva was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a dedicated missionary. She also loved and was very proud of her 28 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

Marva is survived by her husband, John Dean Workman; her children: Mardean Merrill, De Ann (Dorsey) Greene, Janice (Ralph) Harding, Judy (Ralston) Brown, Randy (Tammie) Workman, and Lori (Mike) Gilbert; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings: Ivan, Iona, Clyde, Roberta, Clifford, and June; her son, Paul Collett Workman; a son-in-law, Craig Merrill.

The family would like to thank all those who took the time to love and care for our sweet wife and mother for the last four years.

Funeral services will be held on Wed., Dec. 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, UT with a viewing preceding the funeral from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Interment will follow. For a further memorial, please go to marvaworkman.blogspot.com.
