Frank Edwin Jacobsen

1924 ~ 2014

Frank E. Jacobsen passed away peacefully in his home on February 10, 2014. He was born April 6, 1924 to Elias and Florence Ardell Leaker Jacobsen in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Frank graduated from West High School in 1942, and served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Colorado. He served an LDS British Mission, and graduated from the University of Utah. Frank was sealed to Ellen Yvonne Lees in the Salt Lake Temple on January 24, 1952. He served in several Church callings including High Councilor, in two bishoprics, High Priest Group Leader, and various teaching positions. He was dedicated to his service in the Salt Lake Temple at the recommend desk for over 12 years. Frank retired from the Utah State Department of Employment Security with 30 years of service.

Frank is survived by his children Richard and Russell of Salt Lake, Julie McGee (John) of Riverside, CA, JoAnne (Brent Killian) of Salt Lake; daughter-in-law Wendy of Stansbury; two granddaughters; four great- grandchildren; brother Melvin (Frieda) of St. George, UT; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and two sisters.

A viewing will be held Monday, February 17, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, SLC. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, at 12:00 Noon, at the Riverside First Ward, 1148West 500 North, SLC, with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
