We lost a wonderful man. Boyd Albert Garrick born September 4, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Betty June Kendall Parker and Raymond Alexander Garrick. Boyd died unexpectedly at his home on April 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Judith Hull Garrick, who he married on September 23, 1994. They were the parents of 8 children and 20 grandchildren. He is already greatly missed.
Boyd was a proud member of the LDS Church and held several positions in the church, the latest being his current job in the LDS Branch working with so many wonderful people serving the patients and their families at LDS Hospital for over 10 yrs.
Boyd was a kind soul. He loved his children and grandchildren greatly. They will forever miss his boisterous teasing, wrestling and playing with them.
Boyd loved the beauty of the outdoors and loved going on long walks. His favorite place was the beach in Oregon near where his sweet Mother-in-law lived, walking for hours finding agates and other treasures. He also enjoyed reading good books and watching the Sci-Fi and History Channels. He liked to draw, was very good at it. (He was better at it than he thought he was ?)
Boyd was retired from the Salt Lake School District where he worked for 38 years as an elementary school custodian. He especially liked the students and they loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his older brothers Raymond Alexander Garrick Jr. and Michael Lynn Boone.
He will be loved eternally and missed by his family, friends, ward and branch members.
Funeral will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Larkin Mortuary on 260 East South Temple in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held there Friday evening the night before from 6-8. With an additional viewing before the Funeral from 10:45 ‚ 11:30.
The interment after the funeral will be at the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery, at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
