Harold Curtis Martindale

1918 ~ 2018

Our loving father, Harold Curtis Martindale, age 100, of Salt Lake City, UT peacefully passed away while in the Rocky Mountain Care Center ‚ Cottage on Vine in Murray, UT, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Harold was born May 20, 1918 in Boise, ID to Curtis Wells Martindale and Hazel Laura Bennett. He had two younger sisters (both deceased). Harold lived in Boise, ID until he went to Moscow, ID to attend the University of Idaho. It took him from 1936 to 1945 to finish his degree in electrical engineering. He married Velma Davies on December 12, 1942. He worked for the corps of engineers on the Panama Canal expansion and then for Westinghouse Electric Corp. They lived in seven different cities, states, and countries before they settled in Salt Lake City, UT, in 1971. Harold started his love of music at age 10 singing in a boys' choir. He continued his love of music with playing a computer organ until his death. He loved to travel, camp, and go boating. He loved being with his family.

His wife, Velma, preceded him in death, also his great-granddaughter Makenna Brown. He is survived by his son, Randy Martindale (Colleen), daughter, Cynthia Allan (Randall), 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 12:00pm at Monument Park 15th ward building, located at 1320 South Wasatch Dr., with visitation at 10:30 to 11:30am. Burial will follow service. In lieu of flowers ‚ please donate to a Hospice organization.
