Our beloved mother, Shirley Rae Barnett Wall, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Mom was born February 28, 1935 in Salt Lake City, UT. Mom married Dennis D Wall on July 17, 1953. They were later sealed for time and all eternity on January 26, 2002.
Mom thoroughly enjoyed life. She loved the great outdoors and enjoyed camping, square dancing and round dancing. Mom and Dad became "snow birds" in AZ where they made many great and dear friends. Mom loved game nights. She held a special spot in her heart for the sisters in her ward and enjoyed having them over for "Shirley's Mystery Theater."
Mom worked for KALL Radio, then Utah Job Service, where she retired after 23 years.
Mom is survived by her brother Cal Barnett (Nancy) and children Jaylynn Golighty (Oz), Scott Wall (Bonny) and Shauna Wall Mellen, 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mom had the gift of making people feel comfortable around her. Everyone always had a smile when they left. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose Park 7th Ward, 1155 North 1200 West. Friends and family may visit Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the Ward.
