Janice Lyman Dunford

1942 ~ 2016

Janice Lyman Dunford, a beautiful, loving woman, passed on April 5th, 2016 of probable cardiovascular disease. She was born in Salt Lake City on November 25, 1942 to Kenneth T. Lyman and Dorothy Larsen Lyman. Janice was a graduate of West High School and attended the University of Utah. She was a dedicated employee of the O.C. Tanner Co. for 44 years as an accounting manager, and was well respected by her co-workers for her work ethic and reliability. Janice not only enjoyed her career, but she also took pleasure in spending time outdoors, enjoying her beautiful garden, and feeding the birds in her backyard with the finest bird seeds. She had such a love for all animals and owned 3 dogs during her married life, which she treated like family. She would feed them steak, which she cooked especially for them, every night, along with bottled water and whole milk. Janice loved and was devoted to her family and provided significant financial as well as moral support for them throughout her life. She particularly valued education and vowed early on to provide funds for the education of her grandchildren. She was so proud that all four of them graduated from the University of Utah. She also made it a point to attend all events her grandchildren participated in. She was truly an outstanding wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and sister.

She is survived by her husband Larry of nearly 53 years, daughter, Joanne Hogenson, Four grandchilderen Brandon (Sarah), Tyler (Mekelle), Whitney, Samantha, 2 great grandchildren, Natalie Mae and Wesley, sisters Nancy (George) VanDerWaal, Linda (Chad) Greene, and brothers Henry and Tom Sartori. She will be deeply missed by all of them.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 12th, 2016 at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) with a viewing beginning at noon followed by funeral services at 2:00PM.
