Johanna \"Joan\" Muije

1927 ~ 2015

Farewell, Mom. Farewell, Oma. Farewell the Wonderful Woman who was always there to take care of us, with compassion, foresight, and love, but never a complaint!!

I make this post not only for myself, but especially for mom, so her many friends in Holland, Virginia, and elsewhere will know what has happened. I am sure she would want you all to know.

It is my sad duty to report that my Mom, Johanna (Joan) Muije, passed away quietly in her sleep early this morning, comfortably, and without pain

The two attached photos show Mom as we will always remember her, one as a young and beautiful mom to two rambunctious boys (me and my Brother, Jacques), the other taken a couple of years ago, as a healthy but still beautiful Grandmother and Great Grand-Mother, in her 80's, always thrilled to see her four American Grand-Children, and her new beautiful Great Grand-Child, Eve Dancyne.

Mom gradually suffered from worsening dementia these last couple of years, but was always happy to travel, go out, spend time with family, and just be around people. The Care Givers at Prestige Assisted Living all loved her, since she always smiled and had only kind words for everyone.

The family and any friends who can make it are cordially invited to join us for a celebration of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah, including her funeral where she will finally rest again next to Dad, Johannes (Hans) Muije.

The Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. MST at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel located at 260 East, South Temple, Salt Lake City, UTAH, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

We will miss you terribly, Mom, my Sweet Mom, and remember you forever. Thank you for taking the laboring oar and guiding this somewhat crazy boy and young man into being a responsible and successful adult!!

Love Forever,

Your Son, John
