Rafal \"Rafi\" Uzieblo, born on April 11, 1973, in Krosno, Poland, died Sunday, April 12, in Park City, Utah. Rafal is survived by his daughter, Aleksandra Uzieblo, and wife, Kate Uzieblo.
Rafal moved with his family from Poland to New Jersey in May 2003, where he lived for seven years and was a part-time ski instructor. His love for skiing and the mountains drew him and his family to Park City, Utah, in August 2010. That winter he became a ski instructor at Deer Valley Resort, where he worked for five years. He embraced the outdoors in Park City, skiing all winter long and mountain biking during the summers. He was a gregarious, fun-loving individual who made everyone laugh and smile.
He was the biggest champion and supporter of his daughter, Aleksandra, a ski racer with the Park City Ski Team. What brought him the most joy was spending time with his daughter. Rafi was a loyal friend to many. He was always there for anyone at any time.
Rafal died doing what he loved most, skiing. We will feel his presence throughout the trails on the mountains and anytime we forget to pole plant.
A memorial service in Rafal\s honor will be held at Empire Lodge at Deer Valley Resort on Saturday, April 25, at noon. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation account has been set up at Chase Bank or via the Facebook page Foundation for Rafi ‚ Rafal Uzieblo
