Leilan Turner Ball

1933 ~ 2016

Leilan Turner Ball passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 82 due to complications from a stroke. She was born on June 19, 1933 to Charles Leroy Turner and Mary Aurelia Frost in Murray, Utah. Her childhood home was in Bluffdale, Utah. Leilan was attending Jordan High School when she met the love of her life Clarence A Ball Jr. They were married on December 7, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS church and served mainly with the sisters in the Relief Society. She had many fond memories working alongside her best friends as they served the sisters in her ward. Leilan was a devoted wife and mother to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from cooking large family dinners especially during the holidays. Leilan and Junior loved going on trips with the BYU Cougar Club where they enthusiastically cheered on the BYU Cougar teams. Her brothers and their spouses often accompanied them on these trips as they were Cougar Club members as well.

Leilan is survived by her husband, Clarence, her son Michael (Rebecca) of Tooele, daughter Kaylene (Blake) Christensen of West Jordan, and son Daniel (Carmen) of Orem. She is preceded in death by her daughter Debora and her son David.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 11 a.m. at the Academy Park Ward located at 4605 Westpoint Drive in West Valley City, Utah. There will be a viewing on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the same location. Leilan will be laid to rest at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery located at 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah.
