Our loving uncle, brother, son, and friend passed away at the young age of 72 on December 12, 2015. George was born January 11, 1943 in Price, Utah to Betty and Marion Janis.
George was a generous man who enjoyed gardening, cooking, volunteering, handyman projects and most of all spending time with his family. His niece, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews were his life's greatest source of joy. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He served at the Greek Festivals year after year.
George is survived by his niece, Trista Carras (Trever Carras); his nephew, Jason Janis; his great-nieces, Ashley and Jessica; his great-nephews, Alex, Nicholas, Nathan, Joshua and Jace. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gust Janis; his sister-in-law, Darhl Janis and his niece Shelly Ann Janis.
Services will be Friday December 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, UT. A viewing will be held Thursday between 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 3688 W. 12600 S., Riverton, UT, with Tris Agion at 7:00 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. www.larkinmortuary.com
