Lafayette Berry Brown

1926 ~ 2018

Many people are mourning the loss of a great man, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Lafe passed away peacefully at his home in American Fork on Monday, June 25, 2018 with his daughters by this side. Lafayette Berry Brown was born November 21, 1926 in St. Johns, AZ to John Berry and Gladys Delilah Porterfield Brown. He married Agnes Ruth Mathis on June 10, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they had 4 children.

Lafe loved his family, country and friends. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1944 - 1946 during WWII. He was a BYU alumnus, member of Good Sam, Elks Lodge, Timp Marina Boat Club and the Marine Corps League Detachment, St. George, UT. He loved outdoor recreation including fishing, boating and camping. Lafe was the jokester! We will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his daughters Carol Lynne Fitzgerald and Julie Anna Eldridge, daughter-in-law Lori Kimball Brown, grandchildren Ben (Amy) Castro, Lafe (Sally) Castro, Kim Castro Clark, Ryan (Ashley) Fitzgerald, Blair (Nick) Golden, Riki (Justin) Gotschika, Riley Brown, Tyler Eldridge, Zac (Lynndsay) Eldridge, Anna Ruth (Matthew) Sullivan and 16 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sweetheart Agnes Ruth, daughter SueAnn Castro and son Lafe Berry Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
