Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2016 at his home in Midvale, Utah of causes incident to age.
Gene was born on April 16, 1929 to Delbert and Louise Newbold. He married Betty Joan Tanner on May 1, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He is survived by siblings; Reed (Frances) Newbold, Blanche (Calvin) Brady, Bob (Maggie) Newbold. Children, Greg (Sharon) Newbold, Jalene (Bob) Ward. Four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Clark Newbold.
Gene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and throughout the years he held many different callings. However his most favorite calling was being a Grandpa.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Union Park 2nd Ward Chapel, 7500 South 700 East, Midvale, Utah. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Friday morning prior to the services at the church.
