Ellen Dian Stevens Hechtle, our beloved wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her loving family near her side, in her home in Brigham City, Utah, January 8, 2020. She was 87 years old.

Dian was born December 23, 1932 in Price, Utah, to Arvel and Florence Ellen Stevens. She had one sister, Lynne, whom she adored. They were the best of friends. She attended Price Elementary school, and Carbon County High School.

She married Thomas Lawrence Parry in 1951. Together they had 4 wonderful children. They were later divorced.

She will long be remembered as a fierce protector of her family, finding incredible strength after difficult experiences in her life. Her tenacity, courage, and resilient spirit allowed her as a single mom to persevere and build a beautiful secure life for her and her 4 children. Dian raised her family in Orem, Utah, where she worked hard to keep her family happy and whole.

It was in Orem, working at a bakery, that she met and married her eternal companion Ralph Hechtle.

They moved and built their forever home together in Brigham City, Utah. They loved to camp in their little trailer, travel to far away places, and spend winters in Quartzite, Arizona with their friends.

Dian lived a Christ-like life, she loved her Savior, loved the gospel, and held many church callings. She loved serving in, and going to the temple. She was admired by many through her kind and gentle demeanor. Dian's hands were never idle. Her exquisite needle work and sewing were loved, admired, and will be forever cherished by her family and friends.

Dian is survived by her loving husband and family. Husband, Ralph Hechtle, children; Kim A Parry (Cindy), Valerie Lynne Hansen (Bradley), and Cheryl Ann Parry Conlon. Stepsons; Dieter Hechtle (Colleen), Steven Hechtle (Deanna), and Michael Hechtle (Sherri). 26 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her two loving kitties, Chloe and Gracie. She will be warmly welcomed to her heavenly home by her parents, sister Lynne, brother John, her eldest son Scott Parry and her grandson Cory Scott Parry.
