Wanda M Rampton

1913 ~ 2015

Wanda Rampton, Age 102, of West Jordan, peacefully completed her final journey through life on Saturday morning as she stepped from this Mortal life into the arms of her Father in Heaven, her Savior, and her loving Husband, Paul.

Wanda was born in Millburne, Wyoming on March 4, 1913 the third child of Joseph Fredrick Thompson and Margarett Elizabeth Wayman Thompson, and was the last surviving sibling of her nine brothers and sisters.

She Married James Paul Rampton on December 7, 1940. Later Solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

After Wanda's husband Paul passed away in 1974, she settled in Sandy and lived there for 31 years, and for the past nine years lived near her family in West Jordan.

Wanda loved her LDS Wards in Sandy and West Jordan where she made many lasting friendships along her 102 year journey.

Her favorite past time was building beaded Temples that she would give away to Family members and Friends. Those of us receiving this gift will always have something beautiful in our homes to remember her by. She loved to walk, go dancing at many of the senior centers(for many years), work on picture puzzles, do word puzzles, get hugs(she loved hugs), and watch Perry Mason in the evenings and The Spoken Word on Sunday Mornings.

Mom told me on many occasions her ultimate goal in life was to live to be 102, and she did it with ten days to spare, and she did it in style too.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois (Jim) Fleming of Tacoma, WA, and son Jay (Luana) Rampton, of South Jordan, eight grand-children, 26 great-grand-children, and 7 great-great-grand-children, and lots of cousins, nieces, nephews, lots of step grandchildren, and many adopted friends.

There will be a viewing at the Bingham Creek Stake Center, 8539 So. 2200 W, West Jordan, UT, Friday, March 20, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral will be at 11:00am-12:00pm, Saturday morning, March 21, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
