Charlotte "Cherie" Margetts Stewart, passed away June 27, 2015 peacefully at home with family near her side. Mother was born October 6, 1920, in Salt Lake City to Pauline Moyle and Sumner Gray Margetts. Her childhood years were spent on Gilmer Drive and lovingly roaming the foothills with adored friends.

She attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah. She was a member of the Delta Eta Chapter, Kappa Kappa Gamma. Cherie married Douglas D. Stewart on November 14, 1942 in Salt Lake City. Cherie and Doug were members of the Friday Night Club, which later evolved into the Wednesday Bridge Club. Cherie spent over 28 years as a volunteer in the Holy Cross Hospital Auxiliary, serving in the recovery room and later in the gift shop. She was honored to serve over 10,000 volunteer hours. Cherie owned her own gift shop, Nostalgia Gifts, at the Friendship Manor. She supported her children in all of their activities. Mom lovingly served as a den mother, Girl Scout leader, deeply involved in the PTA and provided tremendous moral support throughout their individual careers. Cherie excelled in her love and activities of being a grandmother and a great grandmother. In 1960 Cherie and Doug built their family cabin in Porter Fork, where she enjoyed preparing wonderful meals and always enjoyed playing a hot game of Canasta. She loved to travel throughout Utah and other states where family and friends lived.

Cherie's delightfully uplifting sense of humor, jolly nature and multitude of kindnesses will leave a huge vacancy in our lives. Her tremendous love and affection for her family, family heritage and family pets will be forever remembered. She was a lifetime neighborhood supporter of the Hogle Zoo and the beloved animals.
