Betty Baer Eysser

1924 ~ 2017

Our beloved dear, sweet 92 year old mother, oma, great-oma, aunt and friend passed away on Aug. 7, 2017. She was born on Nov. 29, 1924 to Hermann Karl Baer and Emilie Strebel Baer, in Nuernberg, Germany. Betty married Wilhelm (Willy) Kurt Eysser on Sept. 26, 1947 in Nuernberg. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 11, 1957, after immigrating to Utah. They shared 61 years of life hardships, leaps of faith and unconditional love for each other. They had two sons; Gerd Hans Hermann and Roland Willy. Her pride and joy.

Betty was our miracle. While in her twenties, she survived a tumor in her head. Later in life, breast cancer. She was a faithful member of the LDS church and believed in service to others and did so unconditionally. Her decades of serving in the Relief Society touched many lives. She loved her family, spoiled her grandkids with her time and Kit Kats, and made the holidays extra special by adding some German traditions for her family to remember and enjoy. She taught everyone through her loving example.

As Betty\s family, we would like to thank Sante Assisted Living for their exceptional loving care they provided for our mother for the last eight years.

Betty is survived by her two sons Gerd (Elaine) and Roland (Arla), 5 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willy, her two sisters Dora and Erna, and her brother Hermann.
