Lois B. Kirton, Salt Lake City, Utah - Our cherished loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 22, 2018 at the age of 93 surrounded by her loved ones.
Grandma Lois, as she was affectionately known, graduated from South High School and the Stevens-Henager Business College. She worked as the executive secretary for the administrator and assistant administrator at Primary Children\s Hospital for 23 years. She retired in 1988 to spend more time with her many grandchildren.
She was elegant, dignified and cultured, with a witty sense of humor. Her life was dedicated to raising and providing for her children and loving her grandchildren. She was known for her compassion and acts of kindness to the disadvantaged and downcast.
She married Carroll Hummel (deceased), Fred Aste (deceased), and Wilford Kirton (deceased). She is proceeded in death by her parents Herbert and Ester Brewster and her brothers Donald, Lyle and Glen Brewster.
She is survived by her five children, Craig B. Hummel (Gretchen), Karen E. Milne, Leonard R. Aste (Ellen), Steven B. Aste (Laurie), and Heidi L. Aste (Larry Wimmer), 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Tui, Loto, Leti and Tawyna for the outstanding compassionate care they provided our mother over the past five years.
A viewing from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM will precede funereal services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers please donate to the homeless hospice center, The Inn Between at www.tibhospice.org.
