Charlean Wright Coulter

1926 ~ 2019

Beloved mother, grandmother, and daughter of God, Charlean Coulter, lovingly known as "Little Bit," peacefully left this life to join her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2019 at 11:45 AM in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 93.

Charlean was born on September 21, 1926 in Lockesburg, Arkansas to Annie Mae and Charlie Wright. She graduated high school from the Howard County Training School in Tollette, Arkansas in 1947. Later that year, she married Robert Coulter on December 24th. Robert and Charlean then moved to Salt Lake City in 1950 where they happily raised four children.

Charlean worked as a housekeeper for 50 years or more for Seaton and Barbara Prince of Salt Lake City, UT. She was also a proud mother, grandmother, and faithful member of The New Pilgrim Baptist church. She loved worshipping, serving the Lord, taking care of her family, spending time with her friends, volunteering, listening to gospel music, cooking, watching the Utah Jazz, gardening, and celebrating the holidays with her loved ones.

Charlean was a kind, loving, spiritually dedicated and faithful servant of the Lord who touched the hearts of everyone she met. She often comforted others with her favorite saying, "God Makes No Mistakes," and carried this belief and her faith in God's plan until her passing. Charlean will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.

Charlean is survived by her children, Wilma Tolman of Salt Lake City, UT, Rosie Coulter of Los Angeles, CA, and Stanley Coulter of West Valley City, UT; her grandchildren, Howard Terry, Barbara Terry, Steve Terry, Jennifer McGaffeny, Craig Coulter, Nicole Coulter, Candace Coulter, and a host of great grandchildren with whom she held very dear to her heart.

Charlean is preceded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Charlie Wright; husband, Robert Coulter; her son, Bobby Coulter; her two brothers, Carl and Chester Wright; and sisters, Tessie Duckett, Bernice Wright, and Synola Humphrey.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 13th, from 6-8 PM at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT. The funeral service will take place at the same location on October 14th at 12:00 noon with a viewing beginning an hour prior. Theodore P. Fields, Pastor Emeritus, New Hope Baptist Church of Union City, CA will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlean's life.

The family would like to thanks the caregivers at the Golden Living Care Center in Taylorsville, Utah for the loving care provided to Charlean over the last 10 weeks of her life.
