Ronald Orrin Howard

1930 ~ 2018

Our dad, Ronald Orrin Howard, passed away on August 6, 2018, from a fall as he was dressing to go to work. Our dad was just shy of 88 years and still went to work every day. He was born on August 10, 1930, to Orrin and Emma Howard in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School and shortly after married our mom, Bonnie Gardner Howard. Together they raised 8 children in a small but happy home in Rose Park.

Dad worked in the auto repair business his entire life. He spent many years at Hayes Brothers Buick and then he acquired his own shop, Ron Howard Body Shop, which he loved and worked in until his passing.

Dad was in the National Guard. Dad had many interests. He raced his midget at the Utah Fair Grounds. He enjoyed duck hunting in his air boat. He was an excellent clay pigeon shooter which he learned from his dad and taught to his sons. He enjoyed fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. His son Scott was a Sprint car racer and dad would travel with him and give pointers. That was a fun time for him. He also found time to be a scout master.

Dad had many friends. He was well loved by his family and by his friends. His family will miss him very much and we are grateful for the time we were able to have him here on earth. We know that one day we will see him again. He is now joining our mom, his son, Scott, his grandsons Michael and Jeremy, his mom and dad, his older brother, Bob, and many friends as he begins his new adventure. We love you, Dad.
