Calvin L. Kener, 73, passed away July 10, 2016 at his home in Sandy, Utah. He was born March 8, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Verne J. and Leah Mary Dunford Kener. Cal married Susan Hall on April 5, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Cal served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and 25 years in the Army Reserves. He was an avid sportsman-fishing, hunting and boating. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. Cal was an electrician at the U of U physical plant and retired from Fort Douglas Civil Engineers, later Angler's Inn and Sportsmans Warehouse. Member of the LDS church.
Survived by his wife Susan, of 53 years; sons Kevin Kener and Todd (Tricia) Kener; grandchildren Austin Lee (Ashley), Alexis, Sierra, Sydney, Dillon, Abbey, Emma, Josh and Zoe; great grandchildren Deegan, Addisyn, Hunter, Brylee and Bryson; brother Stanley G. (Terri) Kener.
Preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Robyn, 3 brothers Dee, Gerald and Steven.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 18, 2016 at 2 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, where visitations will be Sunday July 17, 2016 from 6 to 8pm and Monday from 12:30 to 1:45pm prior to services.
