Jack LeRoy Harsh

1936 ~ 2019

Jack passed away on December 13, 2019 in Riverton, UT. He was born on November 20, 1936

in Murray, UT to Joseph Merrill and Thelma Wardell Harsh. He married Jean McKenzie and are

the parents of 6 children.

He was raised in Salt Lake City with his brother Don. He attended Granite High (briefly) where

he met the love of his life Jean. They were married on November 8, 1957, later solemnized in

the Salt Lake Temple.

He could fix anything, and did. He attended Trade Tech (Salt Lake Community College) and

later taught there and at Fortis College. He had a thriving career in heating and air conditioning

where he was a service tech, manager, trainer and owner. He served in the reserves for both

the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office and the Army. He had hobbies too numerous to list.

He served in many church callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including

Bishopric Counselor, High Council, Young Men/Scouting, and many others. He also served a 2

year mission in the Utah State Prison with his wife Jean where he extended for another 16

years of service. At the time of his passing he was an ordinance worker in the Oquirrh Mountain

Temple with his wife Jean.

Jack had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh. Family was everything to him,

including boating trips, where much to the dismay of his wife and children, he was seen dressed

in his swim suit and cowboy boots. He loved to be surrounded by his family at all times.

He is survived by his wife Jean, sisters-in-law Joan Mulliner and Bonnie Harsh; children Debbie

Peterson (Kelly), Kolby (Sharlene), Heidi Ricks (Mitch), Keven (Valerie), Hollie Bench and

Landon (Jamie); 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Hamilton Ridge Ward, 5562 West 13680 South, Herriman, UT. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Larkin Mortuary Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South and Wednesday morning from 9:30 ‚ 10:30 am prior to the services at the church.
