Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Robert Joseph "Bob" Bergenthal, 81, returned to his heavenly home November 18, 2013 in Sandy, Utah.
Bob was born April 3, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Joseph and Leona Greiten Bergenthal. He married Sharon Kay Greenhalgh in 1963 and was later solemnized in the Seattle LDS Temple. He attended trade school and worked as a machinist for U.S. Motors and Boeing. His passions were traveling and genealogy. With his beloved wife, they traveled full-time for over ten years visiting and learning about the history of almost every U.S. state and researching out ancestors. Bob especially loved spending time with family, making new friends and teaching his children through his example how to be self-reliant and to plan for the future. We are thrilled to know he now is able to hear perfectly and look forward to our future reunion with him. We will miss him dearly, but we know he'll be ours forever.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Shanna (Tom) Lystrup, Danny (Paula) Bergenthal; 6 grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Ceresa; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held Friday, November 22, 2013, 3 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). A viewing will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
