John Albert Roberts was born on May 21st, 1936, in San Pedro, California to Jean and Lillie Roberts. John passed away on Jan 30th, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah. John married Carolyn Smith on September 7th, 1957 in San Pedro, California.
John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed playing golf with his Golfing Buddies from Church and his grandsons. He enjoyed going places in his motorhome to find warm weather during the winters. He also let everyone he met know that he was a retired Tug Boat Captain.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn, Son David (Michele), Son Bill (Elaine), Daughter Jeannie (Brian), Grand Children: Michael, Kacy, Kristena (Cory), Trae, Chad (Terra), Kary, Scott (Heather), Kelly (Cody), Kale (Michele), Brittani (Chris), Nicole (Matt), Dallin (Andrea), Conner, Damon and Lindsey (Dillon). Great Grandchildren: 27 and Great Great Grandchildren: 1
John was preceded in death by his youngest son Donald in 2014.
The family would like to invite everyone to a viewing of John on Monday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E 10600 S, Sandy UT 84092)
John's funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel in Sandy UT, 586 E 8400 S, Sandy UT 84070. The service will be held at 11 am and the viewing will be from 10 am to 10:45 am. The interment and grave dedication will be directly after the funeral service located at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery (same location as above). Everyone is invited to a light luncheon at the church after the graveside service.
