Landon William Lowry

1993 ~ 2017

The world experienced a much too early sunset on July 9, 2017 as the bright light of our son, brother and devoted friend passed from this mortal world to the other side. Landon William Lowry was born on January 28, 1993 in Murray, Utah to Jill and Fred Lowry. The third of six children, he quickly became the brightest smile to the trio of his devoted brothers.

His calm and engaging smile illuminates any room and brightens every soul he touches. A most loyal and loving brother to his two sisters and committed example to his three brothers.

Landon is a friend to all and is known by so many as the one who always talked to and spent time with them. He has countless friends and knowing Landon makes you feel like you are the best. Landon enjoyed so many things on this earth such as hiking, the outdoors, his numberless pets of reptiles, cats and a dog. He is gifted with a brilliant mind and a special knack with his hands. His proficiency on the piano and amazing beat to the drums made anyone smile. His creativity and love for the earth led into a connection with plants and flowers and he was so excited about his floral business he recently started.

Landon grew up in Draper, Utah where he attended Draper Elementary, Crescent View Junior High School and graduated from Alta High School. His love to serve people translated in their love for him as he served as class officer, junior class president and Student-Body President at Alta. His endearing love for others came from his enduring love for Jesus Christ, exemplified in his service, especially as a home teacher. He served a faithful mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas McAllen Mission Spanish speaking, an experience he loved so deeply. His education was important to him where he attended BYU, SUU and UVU, but unfortunately his mental illness prevented him from progressing at the pace he so desperately wanted. Even during his most painful days, his kindness, compassion and smile never stopped.

He is survived by his parents Jill and Fred, siblings Lance, Taylor (Gabriela), Madison (Dallin) Riddle, Savannah (serving England London South Mission) and Remington. Grandparents Don and Nid Tingey, Ruth Lowry, Fred Sr. and Tami Lowry. Extended family of numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandmother Judith Tingey.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Corner Canyon 4th Ward, 13366 South 1300 East, Draper, Utah. Viewing will be held, Sunday, July 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy and Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services at the church.

We are deeply saddened Landon\s mortal life was cut so short - but we now live each day to have an eternal life with him. Thank you to the countless friends and family who have shown their love for Landon. Our appreciation and love is beyond words. May we all Live for Landon!
