Ruth Thomas Howe, age 81 passed away on September 19, 2015. Ruth was our mother, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend.
Ruth was born on September 28, 1933 to John Jay Thomas and Rose Winifred Thomas in Salt Lake City, UT.
Ruth graduated from Granite High School in 1951 and married Paul M Howe on March 21, 1951 in Elko, Nevada. She spent the next 20 years as a proud stay at home mother who loved taking care of her home (which was always immaculate!). Ruth was also an avid golfer and loved gardening. After her children were grown, she worked at Mervyns for several years and then she and Paul decided to build their dream home in Arizona where they spent 10 years doing what they loved, golfing and having a great time together.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by three sisters and one brother, her sons Larry Howe (Linda) and Brad Howe (Shawnie), daughter Lisa Howe Betz (David), nine grandchildren and 12.5 great grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all those that were influenced by her life and love.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy. Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation prior to the graveside from 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
