John Gale

1927 ~ 2014

John Woodruff Gale, 86, passed away on June 23, 2014. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elmer Woodruff Gale and Belva Madge Erickson.

He was a graduate of East High School. He served for 18 months in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He fulfilled an LDS mission in the Central Atlantic States.

John married Leah Hacking in the Logan LDS Temple on July 31, 1952. He graduated from the University of Utah.He was employed at Thiokol Corporation for most of his career.

He is survived by his wife, and children Craig (Cynthia) Gale, Jeffrey (Theresa) Gale, Debra (Michael) Bate, and Lori Gale-Hess. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and siblings Jay Gale and Pauline Wardrop. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Shirley Hippen, June Hartman, and Valerie Miner.

Graveside services will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E 1300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84108 on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 am.
