Bernice Kay Henager Pierson

1942 ~ 2013

Kay Pierson, 70, passed away in her home in Lehi, Utah on August 1, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born September 12, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kenneth Leon Henager and Rhea Anise Evans Henager. She was the 1st of 5 children and was raised in Murray. Kay graduated from Murray High School where she met and later married her sweet heart, Richard Lee Pierson. They were married on October 1, 1960 and were later sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple.

Kay lived a life of service in many capacities, including 11 years as a temple worker. Together with Richard she served missions to the Washington D.C Temple Visitors Center and helped open the first Bishop's Storehouse in Austin, Texas. Kay loved serving others, enjoyed going on trips with her husband, going for drives and admiring cloud formations, playing with children, spending time with family, playing board games, and of course, diet coke. She was one of the Lords most generous and caring daughters.

She is survived by her husband Richard, children, Jackie L. Carpenter, R. Clark Pierson (Anna), Greg's wife (Melanie), Amie M. Stokes (Jason), Joseph C. Pierson (Amy), Jeffery T. Pierson (Kaycee) and Jessica A. Washburn (Kimball), sister and brothers, Carol A. Turner (Douglas), K. Craig Henager, Stephen R. Henager (Debbie), Chad L. Henager (Wendy), 33 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Parents and Son Gregory L. Pierson.

Services will be held at 10am Tuesday Aug. 6th at Cedar Hollow Stake Center 2178 North 1200 East Lehi, Utah. Viewing Monday Aug. 5th 6:00-800 P.M. and Tuesday Aug. 6th from 9:00-9:45 A.M. Interment at Larkin SunsetGardensCemetery 1950 E. 10600 So., Sandy, Utah.
