Kevin Lynn DeKorver, age 62, passed away February 19, 2017 while on a family vacation.
We are heart-broken by the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was born October 30, 1954 to Eleanor and Leon DeKorver and grew up in Salt Lake City. He met and later married his best friend, Shauna Neilson on September 4, 1975 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was blessed with a daughter, Heather and a son, Justin. His proudest moments were watching them play volleyball, softball, football, and baseball. He later found the same fulfillment watching and playing with his grandchildren. He was a talented craftsman in woodworking and also talented in painting and singing. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and enjoyed participating in various running races and triathlons. Most days he could be found on a walk with his beloved sweetheart.
He is survived by his wife; Shauna, children; Heather and Tim Atkinson, Justin and Cassie DeKorver, grandchildren; Ella, William, Audrey, Mason, Paige, and Beckham, brothers; Robert (Elsie) DeKorver, Russell (Troylene) DeKorver, sisters; Sharon Gansauge, and Bonnie Crippen.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 12:00pm at the Bennion Stake Center, 6250 South 2200 West, in Taylorsville. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm, at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South and also Friday from 11:00-11:45am at the church prior to the service.
