Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend Sharon Farnsworth-Ekins, was called back to her Heavenly Father on September 28, 2015 as a result of a sudden and severe stroke. Sharon was adored by everyone who knew her, and will be greatly missed.
She was born in American Fork, Utah, November 24, 1942, to Victor Floyd Myers Jr., and Lillith Holman Myers.
She married John O Farnsworth, March 1, 1963, in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with 5 children. They were both very hard workers and created Farnsworth Family Farms in Sandy, which is famous for it's fresh pressed apple cider and fresh fruits and vegetables. John and Sharon always knew the value of good, healthy food to eat and wanted to make sure everyone had access to farm fresh produce. John passed away in 2002.
Sharon had been an Independent Business Owner with Sunrider International since 1982, marketing the world's best health food. She built a very large, worldwide organization with Sunrider and was blessed to travel all over the world. She loved teaching and helping people learn about Sunrider and their amazing products and helped thousands of people build their own businesses.
Sharon has held many callings with the LDS church, but was most well known as the primary chorister in which she served for 25 years. She had a large bag of tricks and wonderful activities to use as the primary chorister.
Sharon had a deep love for music. She loved singing with her church choir and had an amazing ear for harmonies. She could play many songs on the piano by ear, and had a notebook in which she kept notes as to how many songs she could play. Her dream was to own a baby grand piano, which her second husband made come true.
Sharon married Shirl Ekins on August 2, 2004, and they were married for 10 years. Shirl passed away in 2014.
Sharon is survived by her children: Sherri Kaye (Mark) Rock-Ward, Leo (Shauna) Farnsworth, Rochelle "Shelly" (Eric) Latham, Rebecca "Becky" (Schuyler) Smith, Randy Farnsworth, 16 grandchildren, brothers, Ron (Bonnie) Myers and Larry (Marlene) Myers.
Sharon is preceded in death by: husband, John Orus Farnsworth, husband, Shirley Leo Ekins, granddaughter, Tiffany Anne Rock-Ward, parents Victor Floyd Myers, Lillith Holman Myers and sisters, Glenna Smith and Geraldine Beck.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5th 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Sandy Utah Crescent Stake Center 10945 S. 1700 E., Sandy Utah. Friends are welcome to attend the visitation prior to services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., or the evening before on Sunday, October 4th at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We wish to thank Intermountain Medical Center, and the Neuro Critical Care Unit for their compassion and care they gave Sharon during her final days.
