Mary passed away January 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born December 26, 1936 in Provo Utah to Lyndon and Ruth Dudley. She married her high school sweetheart and best friend Jack H. Rudd on Feb 24, 1955 and from that union came 9 Children. Mary attended Granite High School. Mom enjoyed playing Softball and running the Hurdles in high school. She also loved to swim and ice skating. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has held many calling in the Relief Society and loved to teach Primary. Mom's yard was always full of children, if there was a child missing in the neighborhood they always looked at Mary's house first. She would round all of us up and we would have a softball game in the yard. She loved her children and everybody else unconditionally. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son Jeff, great grandson Casey Rex Allen, daughter-in-law Amy Rudd, son-in-laws Ken Morrill and Rick Evans, brother Don and sisters Helen and Kaye Lynn, father and mother-in-law Charles and Gladys Rudd, brother-in-law Sam ( Margie) Rudd and sister-in-law Marva Rudd. She is survived by her Husband of 59 years Jack, children Karen (Ralph) Allen; Elko NV, Jerry (Georgette); West Jordan, Ruth Ann Neal; West Point, Sarah (Gil Barrow) Morrill; West Jordan, Brent (Susan); West Jordan, Brenda Perry; Thayne WY, Mark; Sandy, and Amy; West Valley, sister Lois and sister-in-law Kay C., brother-in-laws Glen Rudd and Calvin (Lavon) Rudd. Mary has 21 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank First Choice Hospice for the tender loving care of our mom.
A viewing will be held Friday, Jan 23, 2015 from 6-8pm and from 9:30 to 10:45am at the Winder 8th Ward, 1361 E. 4000 S., Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held at the same church building on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 11:00am. Mary will be laid to rest at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S.) Sandy.
