Alta Godfrey Sluder

1937 ~ 2014

Alta Godfrey Sluder passed away happy and peacefully on the 4th of July, 2014. She was a 98 year old "Firecracker" and will be missed by her friends and family. She was born in Logan, Utah to Edward and Edith Godfrey. Alta married Woody Sluder on May 6, 1937 in Logan, Utah. They were married for 53 years and enjoyed a wonderful life together. Alta was an active participant in the Women's Utah Motor Transport Association and the Nibley Park Women's Golf Association.

She is survived by her 2 children, daughter, Sheryl Halton, and son, Bob (Barbara) Sluder; 5 grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Halton, Kim (Travis) Taylor, Jess (Sarah) Sluder, Riley Sluder, Dan (Jessica) Sluder; 4 great grandchildren, Truitt (Chandra) Wallis, Jeff (Savana) Fast, Sydney Halton, Chance Taylor; 2 great great grandchildren, Talan an Jax Wallis. Alta was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, Woody Sluder, brother, Wesley Godfrey, son-in-law, Sid Halton.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Coventry Assisted Living facility for the love and kindness shown to mom for 3 years and special recognition to Shar, Aja, Ginger and Jen who went above and beyond their duties for mom. Special thanks as well to Tammy, Reese and Don at Wells Fargo.

A memorial will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, 2014at 11:00 am at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 S. The interment will follow at the Wasatch Lawns Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive. Online stories and condolences may be offered at www.larkincares.com
