Emily Ann Eckman, age 14, passed away on July 19, 2016. She was born on April 18, 2002 in Portland, Oregon to David Mark and JoAnn Pendleton Eckman.
Emily was a kind and gentle soul. She had a profound love of animals including her rescue dog Maezzie and made a gallant effort to care for others. Emily was a very talented artist and enjoyed music and photography. She was known for her ability to make people laugh with her extraordinary sense of humor. Her contagious smile and bright beautiful eyes could light up any room that she walked into. Her compassionate soul left our world way too soon. She will forever be loved and missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joel D. and Mary H. Pendleton, James J. Pendleton and Leo Eckman.
Survivors include her parents, sister; Ashley Eckman, brother; Daniel Eckman, grandparents; Harold J and Jeannette Eckman and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00am at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 E. 11800 S. in Draper. A Rosary service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 5:15pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S.) in Sandy with a public viewing to follow from 6-8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to GoFund me account created for Emily Eckmans funeral expenses. Any money in excess will be donated to a teen suicide prevention program in Emily's name.
