Russell William Stowell

1955 ~ 2017

Russell William Stowell, 62, passed away unexpectedlyat his home in Salt Lake City on November 10, 2017. Russ was born on September 10, 1955, and adopted by loving devoted parents who were thrilled to have him in their lives. He is preceded in death by both parents, David William Stowell and Faye Vivian Orme. Russ is survived by his companion in life as well aspartnerinbusiness, Sherry Daniels; son Ryan (Erika), and four extremely loved grandchildren:William, Julia, Connor, and Christian.

Living by the standards passed down by his parents, Russ gave, believed, and taught by example the concept of "Unconditional Love". Russ was a kind and caring friend to many, known for his extreme generosity and constant positive encouragement. He always showed great concern for others.

Born with a brilliant business mind and an inventive entrepreneurial spirit, Russ graduated with a degree in business from the University of Utah while he also worked in real estate. He went on to work in the stock market, writing and publishing an investment advice column called the "Frugal Forecaster". The column was purchased and syndicated by many newspapers throughout the United States. His love and talent for writing obtained him a job that allowed him to work while traveling to some of his favorite countries including New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific. Russ moved back to the United States full time and started his own company in the late 1980's. SeaSource, Inc. continues to thrive today because of Russ's enthusiasm, innovation, and honest business practices.

The consummate father and grandfather Russ spent as much time as possible with his son and grandchildren. His life revolved around watching his grandchildren grow and develop the insatiable curiosity for life that he also shared. Encouraging their growing imaginations, he was a continual source of fun and adventure. Russ had an immense love for cars, motorcycles, and history, and passed that love on to his posterity. An excellent cook, Russ lovedto talk with friends and family while serving them delicious gourmet meals. He was a loving companion, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
