"Headed out this Tuesday morning, driving west. It's 6:50 a.m. as I'm struck with the beauty of
the, so-called, Snow moon setting over the Oquirrh mountains. Brilliant and bright and the dawn
of the new day emerges. It's still winter, but this vision gives one hope of a coming Spring and
new birth. This is the tender mercy given this morning.
Our beloved Father, Grand Father, Great Grand Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend left the
burdens of a 92 year old body and this life behind as he experienced a New Birth and awakened
to the glories promised.
Born September 1, 1923 to Carl Arvil and Altania Ann (Allred) Olson and moved on from a well
worn body on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.
Dad (Ted) was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jean LaRue (Greene) Olson, his brother
Jay and sisters Marge, Max and Ethella. He is survived by two brothers, Ike and Stan and his
sons, Doug (Barbara) and Kevin (Becky). He also loved his six grandchildren without question
and was adored by his seventeen great grandchildren.
Dad (Ted) was loved by so many for his gentle nature, his willingness to be your friend, his
athletic prowess and his incredible ability to hit every golf shot, straight down the fairway. He
served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and kept your phones working as a supervisor at
Mountain Bell. As a member of the LDS Church, he served faithfully as a long time Scouter.
One grandson referred to him as ‘master of the Cubs". Everyone loved Ted, that is remembrance enough.
