LaMar Romine Andersen

1930 ~ 2015

LaMar Romine Andersen, age 85, passed away of natural causes at his loving daughter's home in South Jordan surrounded by his family on October 17, 2015. LaMar was a great family man and a loving father and grandfather. He married Evelyn Louise Boyce on February 14, 1951 and the couple had four children together, including one who died in infancy. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Louise Boyce Andersen, on August 23, 1994. LaMar married Jane Stewart Andersen January 24, 1997.

LaMar is survived by his wife Jane Andersen of Salt Lake City; his three children: Greg (Tena) Andersen of Riverton, Utah, Dana Brannon of Layton, Utah, and Julie (Dennis) Stone of South Jordan, Utah; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

LaMar was born Sunday, June 8, 1930 in Kanosh, Utah to Anders Linden and Ruth Romine Andersen, he always said "The church bells rang as I was born and it scared the hell out of me!" He had two brothers and two sisters, Monte Andersen (deceased), DeCosta Andersen, Dorothy Lott (deceased) and Monida Asay (deceased).

He graduated from South Sevier High in 1948 and then attended the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah. Inducted in the US Army in May of 1951 and served his country in Korea as a member of the Corp of Engineers as a combat construction specialist until March of 1953. He received the Bronze Star February 6, 1953 for meritorious service against the armed enemy.

LaMar accepted a position as an employee for Mountain Bell where he worked for more than 30 years. He loved his job and always took pride in his career. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and gentle man who always did what was right.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and ‘N' Street, where LaMar will be laid to rest with his beloved Evelyn. Friends and family may visit at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services.
