Zetha Amelia Burningham Parker

1921 ~ 2016

Heaven's earthly angel, Zetha Amelia Burningham Parker, completed her life's errand on June 1, 2016. She passed peacefully with loved ones at her side to those loved ones so anxiously awaiting her arrival. Zetha was born on December 16, 1921 to Josephine Edna Reynolds and Clarence William Burningham in Provo, Utah. This began her life role as daughter and sister.

Growing up as the daughter of a farmer in a large family, she learned at an early age how to work hard and to serve. During the war she worked for Western Union and was able to travel, which she enjoyed, until finding the love of her life and taking on a new role as wife. Zetha married James Russell Parker on May 24, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her greatest role in life as mother began a few years later and she rejoiced over her three children. During the busy years of raising her children she was also called to serve as ward and stake relief society president. This gave her great joy to serve the Lord whom she loved. Later she took on the many roles of employee for the LDS Church, genealogist, grandma and even great grandma. There are many names and roles connected to Zetha, but two words exemplify her life, grace and service. We are grateful to have been blessed by the love and devotion of this earthly angel.

Zetha is survived by her daughters Kathy Birkes (Gene, deceased) and Vicki Kranendonk (Kevin), son Timothy Parker (Karen), 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, brother Richard A. Burningham (Lois), sister-in-law LaVonne Tomlin (Jack, deceased) and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Russell, parents Clarence and Josephine, six brothers, three sisters and son-in-law, Gene.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 12:00 noon, at the West Bountiful 5th Ward, 840 North 800 West, West Bountiful, Utah, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice, especially Brandy and Brooke, for their kind and compassionate care of our mother.
