Gladys R. Lemmon

1923 ~ 2016

Gladys Rawlings Lemmon was born in Preston, Idaho, to Henry H. and Theresa Rawlings, #4 in their family of 9 children. Gladys married Blaine J. Lemmon, also from Preston, on October 24, 1944 in New York City. Ten days later, their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Gladys devoted her life to her family and in service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

For 46 years, Gladys and Blaine made their home in California: San Francisco, Coronado, and San Mateo. Gladys worked as an Executive Secretary in several small to large companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1990 she and Blaine moved back to the Wasatch Front. Blaine died in 2006.

Gladys is the mother of two sons and three daughters: James R. (preceded in death) - Janice Robinson (James E.) SLC - Joanne Mitchell (Robert) Taylorsville - Blaine Jr. (preceded in death) (Diane D.) Santa Rosa, CA - Diane Coombs (Brad) Fairfield, CA. Gladys has 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Three of Gladys' younger siblings survive her: Janet Fullmer (Layton) ‚ Ruth Hobson (SLC) ‚ Richard (Sharon ‚ Washington City). Muriel Rawlings (CO), Mary Lou Rawlings (SLC), Rosalie Rawlings (Las Vegas) ‚ widows of Gladys' brothers ‚ also survive her.

Viewing at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC Friday, Dec. 16, from 5:30 ‚ 8 pm. Honoring Gladys' wishes, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, Gladys requests contributions to LDS Perpetual Education Fund.

Her family is indebted to Gladys' sister, Ruth, and the staffs at Legacy Retirement, Danville, LDS Hospital ER, Lakeview Hospital Senior Pathways, Legacy Home Cottages, and Aspire Hospice for all their care, professionalism, and love given through the months leading up to Gladys' departure.

Burial at Weston Cemetery, Idaho, on Sat., Dec.17, at noon.
