Arvin George Klinell

1929 ~ 2014

Arvin George Klinell, 84, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2014 in Sandy, Utah. Born, April 8, 1929 in Chicago, IL. to Arthur Henry Klinell and Anna Emilie Jahnke Klinell. Married Lyle Deanna Watkins on August 15, 1958 in the LDS Los Angeles Temple. George graduated from Whittier College, CA. He also served 4 yrs. in the US Navy. While in the Navy, he studied opera in a conservatory in Naples, Italy. At the end of his naval service, he joined the LDS Church.

He had a beautiful baritone voice and loved singing for many weddings, funerals, and church programs. He served as a choir director many times and stake music director for the LDS Church. He served as a Sunday School teacher many times and was also a Stake Sunday School President in CA. For many years, he worked in the aerospace industry as a contract negotiator. Later, he had a very successful career as a real estate broker in CA. and UT. George will always be remembered for his unfailing positive outlook on life and for his strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Survived by his wife, Deanna, three children, Emily (Klinell) Blankenship (David), Drew Klinell (Kelly), and Eric Kline (Karen). Also survived by a sister, Jane Baird. George and Deanna have 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn Kline and sister-in law Lillian Kline.

There will be a viewing from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm and a graveside service at 12:30 pm at the Larkin Sunset Gardens on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. (1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT.)
