Cohen Donald Lewis

2015 ~ 2016

Cohen Donald Lewis passed away peacefully in his mommy and daddy's arms surrounded by family and friends, Friday, February 12, 2016 after a valiant battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, at just six months of age.

He was born July 30, 2015 to his doting parents father Skyler Lewis, mother Billie Swapp Lewis, and wonderful big sister, Stella.

At just four months of age, Cohen was diagnosed with a severe case of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy.) SMA is a cruel and debilitating disorder, robbing these babies of their muscle functions and more often than not, their young lives.

Cohen fought hard until the moment he passed away. He filled our days with such joy. His calm and sweet spirit could relax the tensest situations. In just six short months, Cohen did the impossible. He united a broken family. He brightened the darkest of days, and comforted us all in our time of need, when he needed the comfort most.

We will forever miss Cohen's Sparkly blue eyes, his chubby dimpled cheeks, his contagious smile, his little sweet voice, the love he had for his parents, and his stinky feet.

While we find ourselves saddened at his sudden passing and feeling as though our hearts are left in a million pieces, we find great comfort knowing his heart is full, his spirit free from his body's limitations, and his soul so happy. We love you so much, Coco Bear. God's speed, Little Man. Sweet Dreams.

The Lewis family would like to extend a big thank you and a hug to Larkin Mortuary, Primary Children's Hospital PICU, and Rock 106.7. Thank you for all your generosity and kindness shown to our family. Also for taking such great care of our Mr. Cohen. We would also like to thank IHC Hospice, nurse practitioner Taralyn Johnson, and Chaplin, Becky Dunn for helping Cohen and our family feel comfortable and pain free as he exited this Earth. We can never repay you.
