Norman Douglas Baugh

1935 ~ 2016

Our loving husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa Norman Douglas Baugh peacefully returned home to our loving Heavenly Father, February 13, 2016. He was surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

Norman was born November 17, 1935 in Bingham Canyon to LaVaughn Benjamin and Bessie Alberta Baugh. He grew up in Salt Lake City and attended West High School. He raised pigeons and loved to show them at the fair. He spent many years hunting and fishing but did more tying and baiting hooks once his children started going with him.

He started working for Kennecott Copper mine at the age of 18 after being recruited to play baseball on their semi-pro team. He met and married his best friend Dianne Ludlow in 1957. They lived on the avenues in SLC where they had 3 children ‚ Norman, Scott and Charlene. A few years after Charlene was born Dianne was diagnosed with cancer and he took great care of her while still working and raising the kids. She succumbed to the cancer in 1968 at the age of 27. He married Miriam Deaun Henricksen in 1969 and he loved and honored her unconditionally. Norman became the proud father of Miriam's four children, Ric, Brad, D'Alan and Stephanie. He loved all 7 of his children as his very own. From those 7 children Norman was loved by his 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Miriam and Norman were married for 47 years. They lived in Draper, UT and he was very involved with church softball and little league baseball. He loved BYU Sports, especially football. He had season tickets for many years and loved to share his passion with his family.

In May 2013 Norman was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and asked the doctor for just one more football season. We were blessed to have him for three more.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the employees of the Riverton Rocky Mountain Care Center past and present for their love, dedication and service to our dad. There wasn't a person he met anywhere that didn't go away knowing he loved and cared for them.
